- He went on his first road trip to Colorado. He did pretty good on the way there (it took 12 hours), but on the way home he did not enjoy being in the car seat so most of the time he was awake he was upset (it took 12 1/2 hours). We had fun while we were in Colorado visiting my parents, and my sister was there, too, so that was nice. Jameson also got to meet Rylee and Milli (the dogs) and they did surprisingly well around him! They pretty much welcomed him in as another member of the family! So smart.
- He went to his first baseball game! We went to Coors Field and took Jameson to his first Colorado Rockies game. He had a cute little Rockies onesie and everything. It was the first time he was in the chest carrier for a long time (thanks Kaylee!) and he did really well! He had fun watching all the people and the field, but once things started to happen and people started to cheer he changed his mind real fast and would cry until they stopped. We didn't stay the whole game, but I got to be on the jumbotron and we had a good time!
- Jameson went swimming for the first time! We took him to the pool and to the waterpark by our house. When Dan first put him in the water, he did not like it because it was too cold, but once he realized it was like a giant bath he liked it. He didn't smile the first time but just was relaxed. He smiled and splashed when we took him to the waterpark, though!
- He went to the zoo for the first time! On Saturday we went to the Omaha Zoo (see previous post for more pictures).
- He had his first (or Dan's first) Father's Day. Unfortunately the actual day was spent driving home from Colorado so it wasn't super fun, but we took some cute pictures for Dan and made him some nice presents.
- He had his first taste of something other than milk. For a few nights he was not pooping at all and would just wake up and grunt and do an uncomfortable cry and we could tell something was wrong. I called the doctor and they told us to give him some pear or peach nectar. So we went to the store and got some (it was like $4, so that was an expensive poop!), and he took it like a champ. We had to give it to him through a medicine dropper because it was too thick to go through the nipple on the bottle, but he seemed to like it and it definitely did what it was supposed to!
- He rode in his stroller like a big boy for the first time. He liked it a lot, even though he was asleep by the end. He just sat there and kicked his legs the whole time. I think he liked that he was able to look around and see everything.
- Jameson got (and loooves) a new jumparoo. It is seriously my favorite thing and he is so cute when he gets in it. It took a few days for him to figure out he could bounce in it, but I came home from the store one day while Dan was home with him and he was bouncing like crazy. He pretty much has not stopped since. He loves it and is always smiling when he's in it. He especially likes it when we sing the songs and bounce with him. He's so dang cute in that thing. And he can sit in it for up to 30 minutes sometimes without getting upset so I am able to get more things done around the house. Huzzah!
- He rolled over for the first time! I had him doing tummy time next to me while I was exercising and I looked over at him and suddenly he just rolled over onto his back! He seemed pretty happy about himself, too, after it happened because he was smiling and looking around. You better believe I was excited, too. He hasn't done it since, but I think he'll get the hang of it soon.
- He is now much better at tummy time. We decided a few weeks ago that he was not allowed to be on his back when he was awake anymore because he was getting a pretty flat side on his head. So he was either held, on tummy time, in his bumbo, or in his jumparoo. So now he is more used to tummy time and can go up to 20 minutes without crying. He still doesn't love it, but he knows he can either hold his head up or rest it.
- He is unfortunately worse at naps now. He naps usually about 45 minutes and then every once in a while we'll get a glorious hour and a half nap. It's hard to be ready before noon because of this little problem. Oh well, he's cute!
- He slept through the night two nights in a row, but then went back to waking up twice every night. He does go to bed when put him to bed, and when he eats at night he goes right back to bed, so that helps. I'm usually only up with him for about 15 minutes each time.
- He has started holding and playing with toys. I discovered this when we got back from Idaho and I thought I would just give him a toy and he held onto it and looked at it and was just being so smart and good! I was really excited and now he has a few special toys that are always around the house in case he needs something to play with.
- He puts everything in his mouth. His onesies when they are too big, his hands, his toys, pretty much anything he can get his hands on he will try to eat.
- He is a big drooler! His hands are usually wet, which means my shirts or arms or hands usually have a little bit of baby drool on them.
- Jameson laughs a lot now and is just such a super happy little boy. There is nothing quite like the sound of a baby laugh. It's pretty much a perfect sound.
- His hair is getting crazy long on top. I absolutely love it.
And here are his official four-month pictures compared to his one-, two-, and three-month ones:
In sum, our baby boy is still perfect.
