Memorial Day

Well we've been in Colorado for almost a month now and not much exciting has happened. The only really exciting thing was that we had a nest of baby birds in our backyard. On Memorial Day, they decided it was time and all three flew away. Dan and I saw one of them leave, but the other two must have left while we were enjoying our other Memorial Day festivities.

First my family drove up to Evergreen where my Grandma is buried. We brought flowers and put them on her grave. It was really pretty there and the weather was perfect. We also stopped at my old dog's grave while we were up there.

After we had a picnic at the park across the street, we drove down to Morrison to get some ice cream! The original plan was to go to this little gas station that was always go to in Evergreen but of course, it was closed. The fun little place we stopped at made up for it though. My ice cream was huge and delicious. And a bit awkward looking.

When we got home, Dan and I got ready to go to the Rockies game! We've only been to one game together and it was the month after we got married. So it had been two whole years since we'd been to a game, and it was SO much fun! Our seats were above the purple mile-high line, but we still could see pretty well because they were behind home plate. The game went into an extra winning and then Dexter Fowler won it for us. It was wonderful! When the game was over, they had people in the Rockpile empty into the field and then there was a beautiful fireworks show that we very much enjoyed.

Todd's little burger joint.

The view from our seats.

Todd just doing his thing.

Another reason why the Rockies are the best: our mascot is a freaking dinosaur. Yay Dinger!

We got to see a pretty sunset.

We won!

Then Dexter got pied in the face. Yum!

I would have to say it was a pretty successful day.
